Kent Area (OH) Chapter, The Links, Incorporated Health and Human Services AED presentation at Fellowship Baptist Church of Medina
Addressing the stark disparities in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survival rates, especially among African American communities, is critical. To combat this, the placement of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in key community locations is a vital step forward.
Our recent initiative, in partnership with Summa Health Systems/Summa Health Foundation, saw the donation of an AED to the Fellowship Baptist Church of Medina. This marks our third effort to equip communities with essential life-saving tools.
In addition to the AED donation, participants benefited from a CPR AED course led by expert nurses from Summa Health. This training equipped attendees with the skills necessary to act effectively in emergency situations, underlining the importance of preparedness and swift action.
This initiative showcases the power of collaboration and community engagement in improving public health and safety. By providing access to crucial life-saving equipment and training, we're not just preparing individuals to save lives; we're strengthening community resilience and health outcomes. Together, we're making strides towards bridging healthcare disparities and ensuring that lifesaving measures are within reach for all communities.
